Schools Out! Schools Out! Hip Hip Schools Out!

As previously stated I am so excited that school is finally out.  It is going to be a nice change of pace and I am very much looking forward to the change.  Of course it does mean I have to go back to work.  But I really can't complain because I am just working through June and then I get the rest of the summer off.  And lets face it I only work twelve hours a week so it doesn't cramp the summer plans to much. Monday is already packed full of summer fun.  I go back to work to teach all those little kids to swim.  I just love when the college kids come back to the pool in the summer because that means they get the big kids and I get the three year olds.  Who you just have to love because they worship you even as you are dunking them in the water.

S. is starting tennis lessons which she is way excited about.  She has been warned though that this is a summer only thing and I don't care how much she likes it she will not be on a team, she will not compete, it will end. Ok, yes a little harsh but she is already involved in way to much.  I can't keep up and she is already making noise about student body president next year and orchestra and hey mom what if..... Ahh does she realize there is only one of me to get her everywhere she wants to be. Speaking of which she competed in a swim meet last night and this morning she did awesome.  Of course (I know shut up already) she qualified for a few more state events which makes her happy.  She also swam the 400 IM for the first time and qualified for state all at once. So in addition to tennis lessons on Monday she has a student counsel end of the year party and soccer practice.

S. doing the Breast Stroke!

Al is looking forward to Monday because she is going to work with mom and taking two swim lessons.  She is hoping she can make it through all the levels this summer and join the swim team with the other kids.
A. has swim team practice and H. has t-ball.  The coolest part of it al NO SCHOOL!! Ok I am acting like a kid but with all the running to and fro I will actually get to spend a few minutes with my kids and they get to spend time with me because they love me.  I try to never let them forget this!

Yay Summer, Can't wait to hear what exciting plans you all have.  Hopefully everyone has a great summer.

Oh hah almost forgot Brent's and mine 13 year anniversary is on Monday also.  Go figure 13 years how can I even be old enough to be married for 13 years.  I must have added wrong.

WOO HOO HIGH TODAY IS 64

WOO HOO the High Today was 64.  It is practically a heat wave.  I know you California girls are chillin with that 70 stuff.  But right now that sounds blissful.  Ok enough complaining about the temp.  I did use the cool weather to inspire me to scrap some fun sled pics.  I'm just learning how to get them into the computer after I'm finished so bear with my imperfections.

Last night was the father and son camp out so Al and I watched movies and hung out.  Every time S. came home she came up with another reason to leave.  She didn't come home for good until 9:30.  It is hard to realize that she thinks she is to big to hang with her mom and little sis.  When did she decide to grow up and is there anyway I can revoke that particular right. :) Next year I am going to be a grouch and force her to stay home.  Tie her down with ropes and tell her she is having fun until she does.  Do you think that will work?  "Big Sigh" probably not, right.  Meanwhile, after the boys got home A. said,"Mom, dad never let me out of his sight every where I went he was there."  Ok, well if I had a child not happy with my presence it makes me giggle that Brent had one too.  H. said, "It was the best time ever can we go tonight." Well as the saying goes, "You win some you loose some."

WARNING! I'M GOING TO RANT AND RAVE

All right enough is enough.  I am cold, somebody has obviously not sent mother nature the memo that it is spring.  Today is May 22.  Do you know what that means it means that it is suppose to be warm.  WARM I TELL YOU!!  I am so tired of it being cold. And for you that are thinking, "Hey it is warm here."  Well it is NOT here.  I am wondering if I have pulled a Rip Van Winkle and somehow missed summer.  Is it October should I be preparing for Halloween?  Because with a high in the low 50's rain in the valley and snow in the mountains it certainly leads me to believe that it is OCTOBER.  I have spent the whole season of soccer freezing and now I am spending the whole season of baseball freezing.  I'm so tired of freezing that I am going to . . . . Well I have no clue what I am going to do.  I am going to rant and rave on my blog! So the world (ok, well maybe not the world because who else is even reading this besides me) will know not move to Utah because it is never, never, never warm here. (ok, that is a gross over exaggeration but right now I'm ranting) I keep thinking it is time to put the winter clothes up but I can't because it is cold.  Do you all understand that it is cold?  Please I beg you if it is warm where your at send some heat this way.  I promise to love you for life.:)  Ok I'm done hope you enjoyed my rant and my summer music that hopefully sends a message to mother nature. SUMMER PLEASE!!!!!!

When I'm an Old Lady and Live with my Kids

I received this cute poem from my cousin Olivia. I'm sure that all the mom's out there can appreciate the humour.

When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid,
And bring so much happiness...just as they did.
I want to pay back all the joy they've provided.
Returning each deed! Oh, they'll be so excited!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll write on the wall with reds, whites and blues,
And I'll bounce on the furniture...wearing my shoes.
I'll drink from the carton and then leave it out.
I'll stuff all the toilets and oh, how they'll shout!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they're on the phone and just out of reach,
I'll get into things like sugar and bleach.
Oh, they'll snap their fingers and then shake their head,
And when that is done I'll hide under the bed.
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they cook dinner and call me to eat,
I'll not eat my green beans or salad or meat,
I'll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table,
And when they get angry...I'll run...if I'm able!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll sit close to the TV, through the channels I'll click,
I'll cross both eyes just to see if they stick.
I'll take off my socks and throw one away,
And play in the mud 'til the end of the day!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

And later in bed, I'll lay back and sigh,
I'll thank God in prayer and then close my eyes.
My kids will look down with a smile slowly creeping,
And say with a groan, "She's so sweet when she's sleeping!"
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

No More Pencils, No More Books, No More Teachers Dirty Looks!

I am so excited for the kids to start summer vacation. Nine more days and it will finally be summer. Utah's winter seemed to never end it has really only been the last couple of days that it finally started to get warm. I swear I feel like I am frozen right to the middle. Nine more school days and it will be summer vacation. Which means warm, warm, warm summer sun. Oh and I guess it also means Sam and I will be heading to Hawaii. I guess I can endure that torture. We are excited for everything that we have planned for the summer. Right now life is busy, busy. Tomorow is the last games of AYSO soccer I am so excited, making sure four kids get to four games every Saturday has been hard. They love it and Brent and I spend Saturday trying to figure out how the heck to do it. And enjoying watching them play of course!

H. and Al are also playing t-ball, and softball they are both loving it. This is H.'s first year and I just love watching t-ball. Everyone runs the wrong direction, they dog pile on to the ball, and chase each other all over the field trying to tag out the runners. It is great! I think we all should play t-ball! Al is playing her third year of base ball and is on a coed machine pitch team. She is doing ok but you know our little princess does it how she does it. She says she is having a blast so in the end that is what counts.

S. is still swimming, in fact as I write this she is at a swim meet with dad. I just received a phone call that she raced her first mile race in 23 minutes. Which for you tri- freaks out there you know is pretty darn good for a 11 year old. A. is swimming also but he says he isn't ready to compete yet. And honestly with everything going on I am not pushing him down that road any faster then he wants. The school year is wrapping up nicely.

Thursday we attended H.'s pre-school graduation. He participated in the troll and the billy goat gruff skit. He was the troll and it was way funny. He put his mouth right on the microphone and screamed, "IM GOING TO EAT YOU!" everyone laughed which of course encouraged him to do it louder each time. It is so crazy to think that next time I am at a pre-school graduation I will be a grandma.

Monday H. has his kindergarten evaluation. Our school offers an all day kindergarten to those kid who are at high risk. They test all the incoming kindergartners. H. thinks that means he is starting kindergarten on Tuesday. So wish me luck when I have a cranky boy who can't go to school next week. There is a ton more going on but I'm sure all you soccer moms out there know what the end of the school year is like.
