Update on Swim Lessons

Yesterday I let you all know how great my classes were and how I ended up with only one crier and in general was excited to be back to work.  Turns out I spoke to soon.  The real criers didn't show up until yesterday.  I guess fearing swim lessons to such a large degree that their parents didn't bring them until the second day.  Oh boy! Lucky Me.  It wasn't terrible just your basic terrified of the water my mom is the worse mom in the world for making me take swim lessons kids.  However I had two kids yesterday that I have never had.

The first was a little six year old girl.  Who screamed so loud when she was put in the water that all of the teacher's stopped to make sure she was ok. Luckily for me she wasn't mine.  That was until 10 minutes later when they still couldn't calm the girl down the swim teacher supervisor came over took my class away from me and gave me this single little girl. So today I have to figure out how to get her into the water minus the screaming.  Wish me luck.

The second was this way too cute four year old who didn't want to get in.  My response is always the same, "I don't care get in."  He just gave me a dirty look while his mom walked away.  Just so you parents out there know, that is a good mom move.  Your kids play you I know you think that they are truly terrified and they can't handle but really 9 times out of 10 they are just trying to get out of it and a few minutes after you walk away things are just fine. Well this little boy was too funny, he picked up real quick that I was going to make him do it one way or the other so he tried a totally different tactic.  Every time it was his turn he would look at me and say, "This is boring, your boring, I don't want to play with such a boring teacher."  I couldn't believe it ME BORING.  Ok, yah well the whole flower thing I get is pretty boring but I am a way fun teacher I play all kinds of fun games. I never been told I'm boring the little rascal.

So my second day back not so successful as the first, I had one mom tell me off for making her daughter swim to far.  I started laughing at her because, ummm your in swim lessons. She didn't like that I laughed but my supervisor was there and told her she could get a refund if her daughter wasn't ready to swim.  She dropped it by looking at her daughter and telling her to deal.  I guess my job has head shaking moments where you just have to laugh at how much kids control their parents.

I just have to say my kids NEVER do that. Well almost never.  Well not everyday anyways.

PS Isn't this picture so cute.  These girls are all so big now that it was fun to run across this picture of them in their toddler glory.

What a cute picture of the girls! I love it. It's hard to believe that they were ever that young.

Hey Krissi thanks for picking my number!! I feel so lucky! We were gone for a week and I just heard the news! We should have picked it up from you! Will was in the 1/2 Ironman in Provo last Saturday! We were pretty busy with that and had his brother and nephew with us -we also went up to Smithfield where Will's Mom and Sisters live. I should have called you! Next time we come I totally want to visit you and see your garden!!!! I wish I had talent like that! Anything I grow dies!! (We tried a giant pumpkin once luck!) I think you should send the tape to Stacy. She has older kids (It might actually be too old for mine) and she had a hard route! Thanks though! Or I'll e-mail my address and I'll give it to her if she wants it. Thanks!! FUN! FUN!

You would have a blast teaching Nixon how to swim, he hates swimming without his floaty. That picture is so cute of the girls, is that in Newport?
