My Favorites!

It has been so much fun reading through your favorite songs. I have particularly enjoyed how everyone has different favorites.

After Brent read yesterday's post he got all, "Why is there a picture of me? Where is the picture of you? I don't think you should post pictures of me without posting pictures of you."

These are for you my darling cranky, 70's clad, hubby!

My Third Christmas

Me in all my 15 year old glory.  Check out the rat tail.  How cool was I!

My Favorite Christmas Songs:

#1 As previously stated Sarah McLachlan's album, "Wintersong," pretty much every song.  My favorite, favorite though is, "What Child is This."

#2 It wouldn't be Christmas without a little Vince Guaradli Trio's, "A Charlie Brown Christmas," I'm almost positive that my Christmas tree fixation started with "Charlie Brown's Christmas."

Brent's and mine first Christmas tree, we called it our Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

#3 Bing Crosby's, "White Christmas," this song and movie helped me survive all the brown Christmas's of California

#4  "Silver and Gold" growing up my parents use to play a duet of Silver and Gold every Christmas.  My dad on the trumpet my mom on the piano.

#5  "Winter Wonderland," "Baby its Cold Outside," "Let it snow, let it snow," and "Frosty the Snowman." I have a firm belief that we should have beautiful white Christmas every year.  It just needs to go away January 2.

Speaking of brown Christmas... the boys and I were driving along the bluffs today. Suddenly, Gordon gasped and said, "oh look Zach... isn't it just so beautiful?" Then the two of them talked of the gorgeous town we live in. Want to guess what they were struck by?? THE OIL FIELDS!

We definately have brown Christmases around here.

FYI... You were a totally cute kid! That even includes your 15 year old, rat tail sporting self. =)

My favorite Christmas songs are very traditional as well. I love Oh Holy Night, Baby What's it Gonna be (flash back to high school choir), The Christmas Song (Chestnut's roasting on an open fire...) and my all time, all time, all time favorite is and will always be, the all time classic favorite, written by the priest in Germany...Silent Night. I can't believe no one else mentioned that one!!! Who are you people???

As for listening before Thanksgiving, shame on you all!!! ;) Just kiddin, I've actually caught myself on those stations a few times this year but only if it is traditional stuff. Who said they like the shoe song? That one is just way too hard to listen to for me. Christmas is a time to be happy.
Nice pictures!

Willow, LOL I use to make Brent take me up to the bluffs all the time. I thought all those oil rigs were cool.

H, Lisa is the one that said Christmas Shoes. She also mentioned Silent Night.:) She is the one that has all the heart.

Hey Krissi, I absolutely love the Christmas season, and yes, I've been listening to Christmas songs also. I tell my girls that we are having a "music appreciation" lesson and I tell them stories about the singers and the songs we are listening to. Pretty annoying, eh? But hey...how many kids these days can recognize the voices of Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams, etc.? I think I am going to blog a little about this subject. By the way, I am totally inspired by your sugar abstinence. Not that I am going to follow suit. But at least I am inspired.
