Just a Ride

Last week our weather was beautiful. Sunny skies, warm temperatures and very spring like days. It was bliss.

Today it is snowing.

Falling to the ground and sticking snowing.

I'm not going to say what I think about this because you already know what I feel about this. Additionally, if mother nature is throwing snow at us just to get her jollys I am refusing to react. Maybe if I quit throwing hissy fits every time it dares to snow she will just stop.

Do you think that will work?

Right now I am sitting here dreading the fact that I have to go to work in a couple of hours.

Go to work and get wet.

Go to work get wet while it snows outside (said in a calm voice because I am not angry about the snow)(So take that Mother Nature).

Do you think she is buying that I'm not angry?

Any way on another note at the gym this morning the following song popped up on my IPOD. I laughed and laughed and giggled and got all kinds of strange looks from my neighboring treadmillers. The gist of the song is to accept that things happen in your life and enjoy the ride. Take a listen.

I have had a couple of weeks of what I call drama, drama, drama. Every time I turn around something is taking place that I have to deal with that I just rather not. This song reminded me that I can't control everything and there are times that you have to just sit back and live with the ups and downs.

My favorite verse from the song says,

"Truth, we don't wanna hear
It's too much to take
Don't like to feel out of control
So we make our plans
Ten times a day
And when they don't go
Our way we

Yeah we breakdown
Well don't you breakdown
Listen to me

It's just a ride, it's just a ride
No need to run, no need to hide
It'll take you round and round
Sometimes you're up
Sometimes you're down
It's just a ride, it's just a ride
Don't be scared
Don't hide your eyes
It may feel so real inside
But don't forget it's just a ride"

To me the last couple of weeks have made it abundantly clear that there are many aspects of my life that I have no control over. Which if you know Type A personalities you know that we do not handle not having control. In fact you could label us control freaks. So the lack of control is a very scary place for us to be.

Very scary, were talking monster, snakes, and spiders scary.

Were talking ulcer forming scary.

Leading me to ask you, "How do you handle the things you can't control, but you really want to control, but you can't?" I want to know, all you enjoy the ride people, how the heck do you do it?

It totally just depends on what ride I'm on... Some its really easy, laugh and have fun. Others you just put your arms up and scream really loud the entire time :) Doesn't really help, but you feel better when its over.

When it gets ulcer-causing scary.... Zantac, Prilocsec... pick your poison.

Jem is great. I like those lyrics you posted. I also like "They". Good walkin'/dancin' song.
