I Feel Good

Have you ever fell in love with a song? Every time it comes on the radio you turn up the volume and sing. You bee bop down the road with a great big smile on your face. Thinking this is the coolest song, I love this song!

You listen to the song a million or so times and then one day you just stop. In fact you don't even think about it for a while. Then one day out of the blue it comes on the radio and you find your self with a big stupid grin on your face. Memories flood back to the time that you loved this song. Maybe you remember a car you had at the time a love or maybe just a great vacation.

I love how music does that. How one minute your driving down the street, zoned out, bored, duh ta duh, the next second you are belting out a song and remembering something great.

Currently I am reading a book called, "The Healing Home," by Suzi Chiazzari. Honestly it is a little hockey, a little over the top, a little crazy. You know all the things that I love. I don't think I am going to start burning incense in my home anytime soon but there is a chance that I can be talked into it.

I have a point, I swear I do, hold on just a few more seconds.

Well in this book she talks about all of the feelings that we release into our home. The good the bad, the ups the downs. She says that our homes collect all of these vibrations good, bad, and reflect them back to us at some time. So she says that we have to clear away the negative energy.

Okay, I'm getting there hold on a second more.

I know that sounds hokey but think about it sometimes you are just ornery and mean and you just can't get past it. Well our homes can add to this. Maybe you have been arguing with your spouse and every time you walk into the room you were arguing you just get angry all over again. Never move past it because of the negative energy hanging around in the room.

One of the ways she suggest removing this energy is with music. Play something you enjoy! So you know how you feel when your bee bopping down the street listening to that great song. Well what if you just listened to that song in one room of your house. Then every time you heard that song you would think of your house and get a stupid grin on your face. A big happy stupid grin.

I know hokey but you know what I am totally going to start doing it. Because it sounds like fun and if it makes me feel better what harm is there in it? I am going to assign each room in my house a song that reminds me of summer. Listen to that song in each room all summer long and next winter when I am dying and I just can't stand another minute of winter I will blast all of my summer songs and remember how great summer is. Total win win.

There is a few more great and yes totally hockey suggestions I will drop on you over the next few days.

Happy Thursday!

Today's flowers are brought to you by my parents green thumbs. My mom's favorite book is, "The Secret Garden" does that surprise anyone?

The pictures, and the flowers, are gorgeous!!

I like the idea of having happy summer music. Apparently I need to do the same. I need to play happy winter music so I don't go totally mad when it is 115 outside.

Speaking of 115, it didn't get that hot this week. However, it did reach 97-98. It was miserable. The heat was bad enough, but guess whose little seedlings didn't like the heatwave? Yep, I think I have murdered some more vegetables, fruits, and flowers. The green beans didn't die off completely, nor did the tomatoes, but our corn is dunzo. I have been watering like crazy to try and revive them, but I fear the damage has been done. ::sigh::

Hey, do you think your mom would lend me her thumb so I don't kill anymore helpless plants?

"What about Breakfast at Tiffany's" came on the other day and I had that thought, that song just makes me happy and I haven't heard it for a very long time. LOVE the photos of flowers by the way.

My Grandma's fav book was "Secret Garden". Do you have any peace roses?

Is it bad that my happy song right now is by the All American Rejects and is called "Gives You Hell"? Every time I hear it I want to turn it up and sing along. Not because of the message but just because I like the beat! I didn't realize that it was a bad song until I hear Nixon and Carsyn singing along too, " when you see my face I hope it gives you hell....." That's my bad mommy moment, I guess I can't play that song anymore, it might just add to the negative energy in my home, whoops!

Oh, I love the yellow rose. They are my absolute favorite. Well, the playboy rose is my fave. I think I need to hire you to do my garden. How much do you charge? ;)

Ang, it isn't what I would charge that would be the problem. It is what I would spend. It would take Clint about 10 minutes to fire me when he sees what kind of damage I can do at a nursery.

The rose was in my mom's old yard. She planted a rose bush that represented each of us. I'm pretty sure that the yellow one was for my brother Jake. I think the yellow roses mean friendship and my brother is the kind of friend that everybody should have.

Ash, I don't have a peace rose. I had one at my house in Bakersfield but I haven't put one in here. I lost three rose bushes next year so maybe I will put that on the list. That and Angie's, playboy rose I need to check out what that one looks like.

Willow, Willow, Willow with a name like Willow it is impossible for you not to possess a green thumb. Most of your problems comes from the hardening off process when it comes to seedlings. I will try to write a post sometime this week about hardening off. In the meantime look it up and I am sure you will get it next time.

Thanks for the encouragement. This weekend I officially gave up. We (and by we, I mean Russ) planted the grean beans and carrots that survived the heatwave. We have also put in tomato plants, squash, zucchini and corn plants. No more seeds to kill for this year.

Tomorrow I (and by I, I mean I) will plant some flowers that Russ bought. I have to trim the hedges first; there is no point in planting beautiful flowers if they are hidden by bushes gone wild.

WOOHOO!! A day of digging!

Okay, this is way late. However, it has taken me a while to think of a really good upbeat song. By upbeat, it has a strong beat and you can mosh to it. It is a little punkish, which apparently I seem to embrace happily.

So, if you want to dance like a wild woman (aka mosh like you are in high school again), you need to listen to "Prisoner of Society" by The Living End!!
